WHO WE ARE
THE ASIA PACIFIC STUDIES NETWORK:
“The Asia Pacific Food Studies’ Network (APFSN) was established in 2016. The APFSN connect together scholars, practitioners and activists who share a common interest in food studies, and who either reside in the Asia Pacific region and/or have developed a research interest whose empirical field is located in Asia Pacific.
THE FOOD & SOCIETY CONFERENCES
The phrase “Food & Society” stands for the brand relating to the international conferences’ cycle organised by the APFSN. Every 2 years, a new conference is organised in a different country.
WHAT DE DO
At first, we do what is expected of academia, i.e. publishing books, book chapters, conference proceedings and journal articles: see research tab “our publications”. Beyond this academic work, we organise international conference focusing of food studies, under the “Food & Society” brand, in various geographical locations on the planet. That is where and when we engage with food practitioners and activists alike: see our vision and mission here below.
