MedAcross is an NGO with office in C.so Re Umberto n°2, Turin, Italy.

This is a multisite project located on the Thailand Andaman coast and at the Myanmar-Thai border, supporting the local indigenous communities, so they may learn and re-learn about the medicinal use of the wild edible plants growing in their immediate environment.

The objective of the proposed research work is to collect samples of medicinal plants known to specific communities in Thailand Andaman Coast, and in Myanmar, serving as remedies for various diseases in their respective oral traditions. Beyond the plant samples, the researchers will be interested in their medicinal use according to the tradition of the selected communities, which uses may vary from one social group to another. The expected results are as follows: (1) a glossary of symptoms linked to specified conditions by ethnolinguistic community; (2) Database of identified plants and their associated uses; (3) Reference herbarium, and (4) Iconographic database of identified plants.
